Implementation period: 18 months Budget: 30,000 Euro, co-financed by the European Union through the SAVE Program
Project Purpose
The project aims to increase awareness and responsibility among children, parents, and teachers in Covasna county schools regarding the forms of abuse, their recognition and reporting, addressing all roles involved: victim, perpetrator, and witness.
Context
In Covasna county, official statistics indicate a low number of reported cases of abuse and violence in schools; however, the reality is much more serious, with many situations remaining unreported due to lack of information or fear. The project addresses this acute need for information and the active involvement of the entire school community.
Main Objectives:
- Raising awareness of abuse among at least 1,800 children and 900 parents through artistic and educational activities.
- Development and presentation of a traveling exhibition on the theme of abuse, with works created by students of the Popular School of Arts and Crafts Sfântu Gheorghe, hosted in 6 educational institutions in the county.
- Training 240 teachers in the field of abuse prevention and reporting, as well as organizing sessions for sharing good practices between specialists and educators.
- Conducting an advocacy campaign with the involvement of DGASPC Covasna and the network of social workers, to propose concrete solutions to the problems identified locally.

Activities:
- Artistic creation sessions on the theme of abuse, followed by traveling exhibitions and interactive workshops for children and parents.
- Training and good practice exchange sessions for teachers and specialists.
- Advocacy campaign and consultations with relevant institutions to improve mechanisms for preventing and reporting abuse.
Results:
- At least 25 artistic creations exhibited
- 6 partnerships with schools, 6 traveling exhibitions, 60 information workshops
- 1,800 children and 900 parents directly involved in awareness activities
- 240 trained teachers
- 3 good practice exchange sessions, 1 advocacy campaign, and 1 proposal document for authorities.
Sustainability and Visibility:
The exhibition materials will remain available for use even after the project ends and can be replicated in other schools or communities. Communication about the project will be carried out continuously on the Sic-Art Association’s website and Facebook page, as well as through the channels of institutional partners.
Promoted Values:
The project promotes equal opportunities, respect for children’s rights, transparency, inter-institutional collaboration, and community involvement in preventing violence and abuse in the school environment.
